At this transpo-social, enjoy a mixer with members of several local professional transportation groups who share an interest in Complete Streets and sustainable transportation. From 6:00-6:30 PM, urban mobility and complete streets expert Stephen Stansbery will entertain and inspire us with Complete Streets observations, challenges and potential solutions. We’ll hear a few real-project war stories, and a few big ideas about sustainable growth.

Stephen has a broad range of experience as a strategic planner. He has 21 years of professional transportation planning, community planning, and urban design experience and leads a studio of planners in Kimley-Horn's Charlotte NC office. Stephen’s emphasis has been on the development of sustainable solutions that recognize the inherent relationship between land use, urban form, mobility, and community vitality. He has a passion for urban places, is a daily bike commuter, and has assisted with the development of recent mobility strategies in Austin, Asheville, and Washington DC. These recognizable places all share a common challenge: implementing strategies in constrained settings (especially Complete Streets). Stephen has a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Planner with the American Planning Association and is a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism.
