Join AIA Austin for their fourth talk in our 2015 Luncheon Speaker Series:Capital Studios - the first affordable housing in downtown Austin in almost a half-century. September's Speakers will be Sunshine Mathon, Design + Development Director for local nonprofit Foundation Communities, and Scott Ginder, AIA, principal at Forge Craft Architecture + Design.
Capital Studios is a new 135-unit multifamily property with efficiency apartments serving extremely low-income individuals. This presentation will highlight the design challenges and opportunities in developing, such as the downtown location. With a deep design focus on green building, Sunshine and Scott will also highlight design choices related to high water and energy-efficiencient design.
Foundation Communities provides affordable housing and support for families and individuals in Austin, and served as the owner, developer, and property manager for Capital Studios, a vibrant, modern, affordable housing community in Downtown Austin. Capital Studios was designed by Dick Clark + Associates with Scott Ginder as Project Architect.
